Why We Created 4CyberCity and Where the Future of Cybersecurity Education Is Heading

Cybersecurity is now one of the most important topics in companies, organizations, and public administration. Attacks such as phishing, ransomware, and social engineering are becoming increasingly common and are more frequently targeting employees directly. Yet the reality of cybersecurity education for employees is often still the same. Training sessions are often formal, boring, and employees see them as just another obligation they need to complete. Typically, it involves a presentation, a few slides, a short test, and a certificate at the end. But the reality is simple: A certificate does not protect a company. An educated employee does. That idea was the foundation behind the creation of the 4CyberCity platform.

The Problem with Today’s Cybersecurity Training

Many companies today address employee cybersecurity training mainly because of regulations or audits. This often includes requirements resulting from the European NIS2 Directive, the Cybersecurity Act, or internal security policies. Unfortunately, a large portion of these training programs focus only on fulfilling formal obligations. Employees:
  • complete an e-learning course,
  • pass a final test,
  • receive a certificate.
But their real security habits often do not change at all. That is a critical problem because most cyberattacks today begin with people. Phishing emails, fake links, malicious attachments, or manipulation through social engineering — these are situations employees encounter every day. That is exactly why we decided to create a different approach to cybersecurity education.

What Is 4CyberCity?

4CyberCity is a modern educational platform focused on employee cybersecurity. Our goal was to create a system that is not just another e-learning platform, but an environment where employees learn through real-life situations. The platform uses interactive scenarios, simulations, and practical examples that fully engage employees in the topic. As a result, people better remember:
  • how to recognize phishing emails,
  • how to protect sensitive data,
  • how to work securely with passwords,
  • how to respond to security incidents,
  • how to work safely remotely or on mobile devices.
The goal is not just to complete training, but to build real security habits.

Management Overview and Audit Trail

One of the key features of the 4CyberCity platform is also the management and security team overview. Today, companies need not only to train employees, but also to prove that education is actually taking place and is effective. This is important especially during:
  • security audits,
  • regulatory inspections,
  • NIS2 compliance assessments,
  • internal security policy reviews.
That is why the platform provides:
  • an overview of employee training progress,
  • detailed statistics and reports,
  • an audit trail of completed training sessions,
  • visibility into the progress of individual teams.
Management can clearly see how employees’ cybersecurity knowledge improves over time.

Phishing Simulations as a Key Part of Education

Training alone is not enough. If we truly want to improve cybersecurity resilience within companies, employees must also be tested in realistic situations. That is why we developed our own phishing simulation tool, which we are now integrating directly into the 4CyberCity platform. This allows companies to easily:
  • send simulated phishing emails to employees,
  • track employee reactions,
  • analyze results through clear reports,
  • evaluate the effectiveness of training.
Companies can therefore see not only who completed the training, but also how employees react to real cyber threats.

The Future: Safe Use of AI in Companies

Cybersecurity is constantly evolving, and with it come entirely new challenges. One of the biggest topics today is the use of artificial intelligence in companies. Tools like ChatGPT and other AI assistants are being used increasingly often by employees — but frequently without clear rules or awareness of security risks. That is why the next direction of the 4CyberCity platform will focus on the safe use of AI. We are preparing new modules focused on:
  • safe use of AI tools,
  • protection of sensitive company data when working with AI,
  • employee education in AI security,
  • practical testing of AI-related workflows.
Our goal is to help companies use artificial intelligence safely and responsibly.

Cybersecurity Starts with People

Technology evolves rapidly, and cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. But one thing remains the same. The greatest security risk in a company is not technology. It is an uninformed employee. That is why we believe true company protection starts with educated people. And that is the main mission of the 4CyberCity platform.
